ANAMOSA, IOWA, June 8-9–The National Motorcycle Museum’s 2013 Vintage Rally included a roster full of action not to be missed. Among the gathering in rural southeastern Iowa of more than 2,000 vintage motorcycle enthusiasts was the largest Evel Knievel collection known to exist, a vintage bike show with entries dating as far back as 1909, the dedication of the Allstate Motorcycle Dirt Track Heroes exhibit presented by J&P Cycles and much more. All of this on top of the chance to check out the unique collection of motorcycle history that is the National Motorcycle Museum.

Lathan McKay and Evel Knievel Enterprises were on hand with McKay’s huge collection of all-things Evel on display. Featured were the daredevil’s jump suits, leathers, helmets and tanks painted by artist George Sedlak, plaques and awards, paintings and even X-Rays. It was a fantastic display that can be seen on tour across the U.S. this summer.

The Dirt Track Heroes exhibit was a stunning collection of worn leathers, steel shoes, helmets, used race bikes from legends like Chris Carr, videos, photos and even a few racing legends themselves in attendance. Former racers and tuners Bubba Shobert, Jay Springsteen, Bill Werner, Rich King, Dick “King of the Beach” Klamfoth, Bobby Hill, Bill Baird, as well as many others, were on hand signing autographs and participating in public roundtable Q-and-A sessions. It was an absolutely awesome display and can be seen throughout the summer at the National Motorcycle Museum–I highly recommend it!
