More pressure to bear
AIM-Tamachi’s “variable pressure” clutches have proven works of wizardry, providing the grab of a lock-up clutch under hard acceleration while simultaneously lightening clutch lever effort significantly around town—and they do all that with stock clutch springs. What’s even more amazing is that they can be installed and adjusted through the derby cover without having to pull the primary. The company has now taken that technology to the next level, bringing the same essential features to their CF2 Performance Clutch Kit, which they bill as their “second generation” and are targeting at ultrahigh-performance applications, including serious drag racing machinery. The CF2 is a complete clutch assembly that’s twice as strong as existing AIM-Tamachi setups, but once installed can still be easily adjusted—both springs and lock-up weights—through the derby cover. Price of this competition-grade unit is $895.

You can add a conspicuous touch of evil to your scooter by replacing your stock horn bell with one of these 3D Evil Twin Skull Horn Covers, and you can do it in the name of art. According to the manufacturer, each of these sinister ornaments is hand-cast from aluminum, making them one-off works of sculpture—strictly speaking. They’re available either polished or chromed and sell for $125.99, which answers once and for all the age-old question, “What price art?”

When tie-dyed Texas builder Rick Fairless unveiled the Bettie Bike—his psychedelic tribute to pin-up queen Bettie Page—it raised a whole lot of eyebrows, as much for its wildly innovative chassis as for its outlandish tutti-fruity graphic treatment. That was a couple of years ago, and now a version of that chassis, dubbed, naturally, the Bettie Frame, is being made available to anyone looking to create their own over-the-top styling statement. The price of the frame is $3,995, and while that price may seem steep at first blush, you have to consider that it incorporates both the fuel tank and oil bag in the stout 6″-diameter main frame member, so you don’t have to budget for those items. A softail-style model is also available.

Tourer de force
From Vance & Hines comes this Big Radius 2-into-2 Exhaust for ’07–’08 Tourers, a system designed to boost torque and horsepower in your TC96 while giving your bagger a distinctly nonbagger profile. This system features full 2.5″ heat shields over its graceful curvature, terminating in scalloped tips, and is offered both chrome-plated for $684.95, and finished in black ceramic for $785.60. They’re set up to accept the stock O2 sensors, and will bolt up directly to all contemporary Tourer models.

In achieving the dashing, sanitary appearance of the FLHX Street Glide, the designers at The Motor Company were obliged to forego certain traditional bagger components, chief among them the front light bar. In its stead they mounted svelte turn signals directly to the lower triple tree clamp, and while that works aesthetically, it’s left some bagger purists feeling, shall we say, less than fully illuminated. With their new Billet Aluminum Spotlight Bracket, Headwinds has stepped up to address that deficit while still preserving the Street Glide’s sleek profile. These brackets replace the stock turn signal mounts and allow the addition of a pair of the company’s night-piercing 2″ spotlights. The brackets are sold in pairs for $50, and will accommodate the stock turn signals, but the better way to go here is with matched sets of Headwinds lights. The Concours Mariah Rocket Spotlights and Turn Signals shown here run $189 per pair, and $149 per pair, respectively.

Now available from Baker Drivetrain is this new Synchronous Belt Drive for Softails, engineered to bring the blessings of the company’s bulletproof belt drive technology to owners of Evo-powered Softail models. Already well-proven in other applications, the Synchronous Belt Drive uses steel instead of aluminum in all the critical wear areas of the primary drive, including the pulleys and clutch basket, and that’s in addition to a number of other mechanical improvements engineered into the system; things like an inner clutch hub that extends farther onto the transmission mainshaft for added strength, anti-rattle hardware to keep the clutch quiet at an idle, and a fully meshed belt/pulley to keep it quiet under power. This belt drive is offered with or without the outside bearing support plate, and in either show-polished or black anodized finish.
